On the night of Saturday, October 11, the murder of renowned fashion designer Edgar Molina in the state of Guanajuato was announced. The news was confirmed through social media by the state’s governor, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo.
According to initial reports, Edgar Molina lost his life during an armed attack while driving his truck through the streets of the El Progreso neighborhood in the municipality of Moroleón. Local authorities have opened an investigation into the case.
It was around 7:30 p.m. when the Emergency Center was alerted to multiple gunshots at the corner of Veracruz and Tlaxcala streets. Upon arriving at the scene of the attack, officers found two bodies in a truck, one of them a wounded woman who was rushed to a hospital.
In the same publication, which was accompanied by an obituary, the governor not only sent her condolences to the victim’s friends and family, but also stated that she is collaborating with the relevant authorities to ensure justice is achieved in the case.
Edgar Molina, originally from Moroleón, recently gained notoriety for having designed the dress worn by Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo during the Grito de Independencia ceremony on September 15th. His work had been praised by the community.
