The all-time leading scorer for Chivas de Guadalajara will remain in the Puente Grande Prison while the investigation into the case progresses. The decision was made by a judge after a hearing that lasted more than 10 hours.

The judge determined that there is sufficient evidence in the investigation file to keep the former forward under investigation. He was arrested on October 4 in Zapopan.

Authorities are investigating Omar for repeated abuse against his ex-partner’s daughter. The victim’s attorney, Juan Soltero, revealed that the abuse allegedly began when the minor was 11 years old and continued until she turned 17.

According to the litigant, the Prosecutor’s Office has evidence that includes videos, audio recordings, and 42 screenshots, which allegedly show how the defendant allegedly forced the victim to remain silent through threats.

The crime he is accused of, aggravated child sexual abuse, could lead the former soccer player to face a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, Soltero indicated.

The judge established a six-month period for the Public Prosecutor’s Office to conduct the initial complementary investigations. During this period, the former player will remain in pretrial detention as a precautionary measure.

Additionally, the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that there are two additional investigation files against Omar. These files relate to other alleged victims, other than his ex-partner’s daughter, which broadens the scope of the investigations against the former soccer player.
