Among the nine people who died after an LP gas pipeline explosion on the Puente de La Concordia bridge in the Iztapalapa borough of Mexico City was Eduardo Noé García Morales, originally from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.
Eduardo Noé was 55 years old and dedicated much of his life to teaching mathematics. He was a teacher at Technical Secondary School No. 53 “Adolfo López Mateos” and at “Quetzales” High School No. 327, located in Los Reyes, La Paz, State of Mexico. At both institutions, he left his mark on both students and fellow teachers, who remember him as a committed, demanding, and caring teacher.
Guanajuato’s Secretary of Government, Jorge Jiménez Lona, confirmed the identity of the Guanajuato native and explained that his father traveled to Mexico City to carry out the process of claiming the body.
In an interview, he explained that the situation has been complicated, not only because of the procedures stemming from the accident, but also because of the family’s financial circumstances.
“My name is Eduardo Noé Hernández, from San Miguel de Allende. My father has already gone to Mexico to claim the body and all that.
We know that there is someone originally from Guanajuato who lived there, who resided there, but who does have origins from here in Guanajuato,” he commented in an interview.
