Mexican authorities arrested one of the US’s most wanted criminals in the state of Guerrero, following a joint operation between Mexico and the US.

He is Gabriel ‘N’, who has an extradition warrant and is one of the most wanted by US authorities in connection with a femicide, robbery, and improper disposal of resources and valuables belonging to credit institution clients.

The head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) highlighted in his publication that this arrest was carried out by members of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).

Gabriel ‘N’ was arrested in Ometepec, Guerrero. The operation was led by members of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), the Ministry of the Navy (Semar), the National Guard (GN), and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

“This intervention is part of the efforts to combat perpetrators of violence that threaten national security,” the SSPC stated.

How did they find Gabriel ‘N’?

Federal authorities emphasize that through international cooperation efforts, key information was obtained indicating the Barrio de San José neighborhood in the municipality of Ometepec as a transit area for “an individual with a current extradition order” and wanted by the U.S. Marshal’s agency.

During surveillance patrols in the area, officers managed to locate a person who matched the suspect’s characteristics. After signaling him to stop, they proceeded to verify his identity, confirming that it was Gabriel ‘N’. At that time, his arrest was carried out in accordance with established protocols.

He was subsequently informed of his rights under the law and placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Prosecutor’s Office, who will determine his legal status.
