Sunday of Terror: Violence Rocks Sinaloa with 17 Homicides in a Single Day

The Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office reported that on Sunday, August 10, seven investigations were opened for intentional homicide after seventeen people were found dead in different locations across the state.

According to the agency, the events occurred in different municipalities, and the bodies had various causes of death. Regional prosecutors’ offices are continuing their investigations to determine the circumstances of each case and establish possible lines of inquiry.

The state authority reported that experts and prosecutors went to the areas where the discoveries were made to gather clues, process evidence, and initiate the corresponding legal proceedings.
According to the FGE (Federal Executive Branch), in the Navolato region, the Attorney General’s Office confirmed the discovery of one victim in Villa Juárez and four more in the municipality of San Pedro. These situations are among the events being addressed by municipal and state authorities.

In Culiacán, the death of a person receiving medical treatment after being attacked in the Nueva Galaxia neighborhood was reported, and another person died at the Red Cross facility after an attack in the Las Coloradas neighborhood. Meanwhile, in Angostura, a body was reported found in the Ejido Independencia neighborhood.

In Concordia, the bodies of eight people were discovered in the town of Pánuco. In Rosario, an additional case was registered after a deceased person was found in the Chametla neighborhood.

In another area, the Specialized Vehicle Theft Unit of the Central Region filed a formal complaint, incorporating the case into the corresponding investigation file.

In turn, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Forced Disappearances of Persons learned of a case in Culiacán related to the deprivation of personal liberty.

The State Attorney General’s Office maintains the obligation to communicate verifiable information to the public, resulting from complaints filed with its Public Ministry Units and Agencies.
