In recent days, a public complaint filed by stand-up comedian Daniel Sánchez, who lives with autism, sparked a heated controversy on social media and in the Mexican stand-up comedy world. Sánchez accused a comedian named Arlenn Anguiano, a member of the feminist collective “Las Humoristas,” of sexually harassing him during a party.

The incident, which began to spread during Daniel’s live performance, went viral on TikTok and other digital platforms, generating an avalanche of reactions, both supportive and negative, which quickly led to a heated debate about sexual harassment, feminism, and the culture of comedy.

The complaint on the show

During his routine, Daniel Sánchez recounted, in a tone that combined humor and frustration, how he was harassed by Arlenn at a private party. With raw details that provoked laughter and then silence from the audience, he recounted how, while he was trying to fit in, under the influence of drugs, Arlenn began dancing suggestively and touching him without consent.

Sánchez began his story by saying: “A while ago, I went to a party with friends and a girl approached me. I know what you’re thinking: ‘Oh, come on, Jorge, you look like your partners know the DIF number by heart.’ I know, I know. But to give you some context, friends, this girl is a local comedian, just look at that. It turns out her sexual encounters are just like her jokes, very forced. I’ll tell you quickly, I don’t want to overdo it.”

He continued explaining the situation with crudeness and dark humor: “I was at the party, doing the basic move of a straight guy who wants to fit in. You know what I mean? Exactly, getting high. I was getting high. And then this girl comes up and starts grinding on me. Two things you should know. I don’t think it’s a good idea to start fucking comedians, friends. We’re funny. And honestly, I didn’t like the girl, but I said, ‘Well, if she wants to dance, that’s fine, we’re friends.’”
