SkyFend Hunter, the device that La Mayiza uses to detect and disable drones in the air

A couple of months ago, discovered, through a video shared on social media by alleged hitmen from La Mayiza’s faction, that the Sinaloa Cartel has technology capable of inhibiting drones.

This is the SkyFend Hunter, a fixed-site anti-drone defense system capable of identifying flying objects in real time. Here we tell you what this technology’s features are.

According to the supplier’s official website, the SkyFend Hunter is an anti-UAS system against unmanned objects (Anti-Unmanned Aircraft System), which combines detection and mitigation in an integrated platform.

It is capable of simultaneously monitoring and decoding the communication signals of aircraft operating without a pilot on board, also known as UAVs.

This is intended to identify drone models in real time.

The SkyFend Hunter is capable of choosing the best strategy to jam drone communication signals, enabling precise targeting, directional disruption, and effective neutralization of the device. Its key features include:

Early Detection and Warning: Allows monitoring of airspace within a range of five kilometers and disables the signal when it is within three kilometers. It also provides insight into the aircraft’s operating location.

Countermeasure Compromise: Disrupts drone control links, video transmission, and navigation signals to neutralize threats within a range of three kilometers.

Data Acquisition and Analysis: After intercepting drone signals, the system acquires critical real-time telemetry that supports computer data. This includes GPS coordinates, altitude, speed, heading, model time, serial number, and pilot location.

Other advantages include a 360-degree view of the airspace, allowing for full-spectrum analysis. It has 24/7 automatic operation and can manage blacklists of enemy drones.
