The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) yesterday condemned the attack suffered by Ximena Pichel, known as “Racist Lady,” after leaving her hearing at the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City, in the Cuauhtémoc borough, where she faces accusations of discrimination.

“The SSC categorically condemns the attacks suffered today by a woman who attended a hearing on Doctor Lavista Street,” the institution stated through its X account, formerly Twitter.

“It should be noted that an officer from the Banking and Industrial Police, assigned to the procedural security area, recovered the bag that was snatched from the woman as she was getting into a vehicle and made it available to the security area of the Superior Court of Justice for safekeeping,” the SSC added.

Yesterday, Ximena Pichel was attacked by a group of people who, in front of the media, threw bottles of liquid at her as she left a hearing at the Superior Court of Justice, where she was to be held accountable for the racist attacks against a Mexico City police officer. “Go back to your country, we don’t want you here! Go fuck yourself!” they shouted at her.

The Argentine-born model rose to fame on July 5th when a video was released in which she was seen using discriminatory comments toward an officer from the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC). Pichel had placed an immobilizer on her vehicle for not paying the parking meter, earning her the nickname “Racist Lady.”

The footage showed the moment the woman pulled the officer who was holding a spider, repeatedly shouting phrases like: “I hate Black people like you! I hate you for being nacos! I hate fucking Black people like you, assholes! Because being Black is fine, but I hate assholes, damn it!”

The footage sparked outrage and social condemnation, leading internet users to leak it to Ximena Pichel’s social media accounts. Several days later, she publicly apologized to the officer. In the letter, which she sent to the media, the model asserted that she wasn’t seeking sympathy or excuses, but emphasized that she didn’t want the moment to define her.

“I am fully aware of the gravity of my words and I know what I said was wrong. There is no justification for expressions that hurt, divide, and discriminate. It was a mistake that I take responsibility for. I want to offer a sincere and unreserved public apology. My words offended a man doing his job and also offended many people who, every day, face discrimination and contempt. I am truly sorry,” he said in a statement released on July 8.
