Blockades and burned vehicles disrupted the peace in the municipality of Rincón de Romos, in the state of Aguascalientes, following the arrest of a group of alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
The deployment of federal and state forces triggered a series of violent reactions in the area, forcing authorities to strengthen security measures to restore order and protect the population.
In this context, the Security Cabinet reported on the operations and actions taken to address the situation.
The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) confirmed the arrest of 18 people allegedly linked to the criminal group, as well as the seizure of an arsenal and tactical equipment in a clandestine camp.
The operation, coordinated by the Ministry of National Defense, the National Guard, and the Public Security Secretariat of the State of Aguascalientes, included ground and aerial reconnaissance, with the support of a State Police aircraft.
