Ángela Aguilar used her social media to express her support for the Mexican immigrant community in the US, amid the recent raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In a video shared on her TikTok account, the artist performed a song inspired by the migration crisis, accompanying it on the piano and delivering an emotional performance in English and Spanish. “With my soul in my hand, I embrace every migrant who has left everything for a dream. May their footsteps be heard, may their voice be heard. Only the people save the people,” she wrote on the cover image of her post.
“One stays here, another stays there. This happens because they go out to work. And no one is illegal in this stolen land. When will we love each other and treat each other like human beings?” she expressed.
At the same time, the youngest member of the Aguilar dynasty expanded her message of solidarity through her Instagram profile, where she shared a story that included a video clip of her performance. The post sought to reinforce her support for Mexican immigrants facing difficult situations abroad.
