Early on Wednesday, June 4, at around 1:05 a.m., in the Miramar neighborhood of the municipality of Loreto, Baja California Sur, residents reported gunshots. Public Safety and Municipal Traffic officers went to 7th Street, where they confirmed the events.
A man, identified as Hansel Misael “N,” 33, originally from Ciudad Constitución, in Comondú, was found dead inside a home. He had multiple injuries, apparently caused by a firearm.
That same day, at 8:20 p.m., also in Loreto, a woman identified as Gabriela Amairani “N” was found dead. Her body was found on a public road, at the intersection of Misioneros and Aurora streets, in the Infonavit neighborhood. Security agents reported that the victim suffered gunshot wounds to the head and back.
In Ciudad Constitución, at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a house fire and gunshots were reported in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood. Neighbors reported that armed individuals set fire to a house and shot two women.
Secretary General of Government Saúl González Núñez stated: “We are working with intelligence from the Federal and Municipal Governments to quickly address what is happening in Loreto and, likewise, in Comondú.”
