Claudia Sheinbaum, President of Mexico, asserted that her government will not allow Sinaloa, one of the states with the highest rates of violence, to be stigmatized.
“I have to say it loud and clear, so that it can be heard throughout Mexico and the world: the people of Sinaloa are hardworking people who move forward every day. We love them, we support them. We will not allow anyone to stigmatize Sinaloa.”
It was during her visit to Mazatlán to launch the Casa por Casa program that the president highlighted the importance of Sinaloa in corn production, which she considered the “breadbasket of Mexico.”
“Sinaloa, I say it every time I come, is the breadbasket of Mexico. We have this phrase: ‘Without corn, there is no country,’ and who is the main corn producer?”
