Wrestler ‘Hijo de Fishman’ kills referee after executing dangerous move; he is arrested and poses smiling

A wrestling event in Mineral de la Reforma, Hidalgo, ended in tragedy after a 75-year-old referee known as “El Búho” lost his life following a dangerous maneuver performed during a match.

The incident took place on the night of Tuesday, October 6, when the wrestler Hijo de Fishman allegedly executed a move known as a *martinete* (piledriver), which reportedly left the referee lying motionless on the mat.

Following the incident, public security officers arrested Hijo de Fishman and turned him over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to determine his potential liability in the matter.

The dangerous maneuver was captured on video; the footage began circulating on social media, sparking shock among wrestling fans.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
