Camilo Cifuentes, the well-known Colombian influencer who rose to fame on social media for his charitable videos, is facing a massive online backlash—or “getting called out”—over alleged infidelity toward his girlfriend, who is pregnant with their first child.
The controversy has escalated so rapidly in recent hours that the content creator’s name is now trending in Colombia, amidst accusations from internet users claiming he betrayed his partner.
The controversy began with a charity soccer match organized by Cifuentes in Manizales to gather aid for earthquake victims in the country. During the event, photos and videos circulated on platforms like X and Instagram showing the influencer publicly spending time in Pereira with the content creator known as “La Mijita.”
As these images went viral, María Camila Sepúlveda—his now-ex-partner, who is currently pregnant—responded to a social media comment: “Congratulations to you both; while you are starting a new story, I am just days away from welcoming my son—a baby conceived within a relationship I believed was built on love, commitment, and a future. It isn’t easy going through a pregnancy and facing the fact that the person with whom you imagined building a family decided to walk away to start a new relationship with someone else… actions that not only cause hurt but also leave emotional scars on a family about to welcome a baby.”
Subsequently, she posted screenshots of conversations from just over two weeks prior to her Instagram Stories. In them, she claimed, Cifuentes was still speaking to her about “creating a home and building a future together as a family.” This was his message: “Until recently—very recently, I’d say—there were still conversations, plans, and promises about a life together. He kept talking about building a home, a future, and what our family life would be like—flowers and all the rest. Yet, while I was receiving these signals and taking that step of opening my heart to these dreams once again, reality was taking a different turn.”
